About Our Group and Role The NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) team is part of our Enterprise Quality organization that focuses on ensuring part integrity and compliance to engineering type design by utilizing non destructive methods (UT, ET, MT, PT, and RT) to test our aircrafts and parts during production. In addition to the NDT Methods, Technicians utilize Solumina, SAP, and Microsoft Suite. Our Techs work with many cross functional teams and suppliers, strong communication skills are required. Flexibility to work any shift is required. |
Experience or training in Eddy Current (ET) or Ultrasound (UT) is preferred. It is a great opportunity for someone interested in the Non Destructive field to learn and certify into higher methods. Person must be willing to learn and be very organized. Good math skills and experience in Microsoft Office is preferred.
Education and Experience Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required. Entry level position. Strong science and computer aptitude required. Essential communication skills, including read, write, speak and understand English language, listening and computer skills required.. Other Formal documented NDT training. preferred.
Position Purpose:This is an entry level position in which the individual will be trained, qualified and certified in the Nondestructive Testing of aircraft components. In a team environment, under direct observation of level 2 or 3 NDT personnel, to complete and finalize experience hour requirement for each NDT method used at Gulfstream. Upon completion of experience hour requirements in a method the individual will certify as a Level 1 and/or Level 2 in that method.
Job Description
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:Essential Functions:
- Under direct observation of Level 2 or 3 personnel, observe proper NDT inspection methodology to Gulfstream internal practices and procedures.
- Assist in recording inspection records in inspection logs, Solumina, SAP, or other inspection systems .
- Team support of NDT inspections performed within Gulfstream .
- Assist in the cleaning, maintenance and calibration of equipment .
- Assist in maintaining equipment inventory and assisting with 6S of the NDT areas .
- Assist in the interpretation of Engineering drawings/requirements and support Level 2 or Level 3’s in determination of inspection requirements .
- Strong verbal and written communication skills .
- Assist in generating technical presentations utilizing sound computer skills .
Additional Functions:
- Must be available to work any shift. .
Perform other duties as assigned. Other Requirements:
- Must be able to read a scale and perform basic shop math.
- Read and comprehend basic documents and instructions.
- Must have essential personal skills.
- Must demonstrate good housekeeping and safety practices.
- Proficiency in current personal computer-based software.
- Must be able to lift and transport objects up to 40 pounds.
