Position Overview:
In this role you will be responsible for managing all facets of the divisional payroll for 285+ plant hourly employees, as well as supporting the Human Resources team with recruiting, development, training, and retention. This position will report to the HR Manager and is located onsite in DePere, WI.
Responsibilities:

Review employee time reporting on a daily basis.

Monitor and record absenteeism and time off requests.

Set-up the weekly payroll, including posting of vacation time and special pay, safety shoe reimbursements or deductions and other adjustments to the payroll system.

Work closely with supervisors to resolve any payroll discrepancies (authorized overtime, shift differential, etc).

Audit payroll register to ensure changes were made and payroll is accurate before it is final.

Enter changes to employee information in the payroll system as necessary, such as pay rates, change of address, witholding or regular deductions.

Prepare and enter annual union rate increases for employees.

Support the transition to new HRIS software (from Lawson to UKG,) including verifying data, updating process documentation and implementing process improvements.

Support all facets of hourly recruiting (screen applicant resumes, perform phone interviews, schedule, and conduct interviews, disposition candidates, extend offers and manage pre-employment process).

Help prepare paperwork, schedule, and facilitate new hire onboarding process, coordinating with cross-functional departments. Trained as back-up for the HR portion of orientation.

Manage the 30-75-120-day performance review process for new employees.

Maintain employee personnel files for active and terminated employees and ensure record retention requirements are followed.

Update electronic communication displays with any necessary payroll/HR information.

Maintain plant and office bulletin boards to ensure up-to-date compliance with federal, state and local regulations.

Provide counsel to employees on benefit plan provisions and coordinate open enrollment process.

Day to day administration of various HR functions such as attendance and FMLA record-keeping.

Perform other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:

Minimum of an associate degree in or business, human resources or related field.

2+ years of Payroll/Human Resources experience.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).

Strong analytical and mathematical aptitude, and knowledge of general payroll practices .

The Folding Carton Division is an industry leading manufacturer of folding cartons for food, beverage, tissue, hardware, confectionary, and many other industries. Employing around 300 people, this facility designs, prints, and manufactures folding cartons, trays, and counter displays for a broad range of products and customers.
