Job Summary
Manage engineered labor standards, operational reporting, manufacturing process flow, and projects related to process improvement and transformation for the warehousing operations at Giant Eagle. Please note - this role is a Warehouse/Distribution/Logistics Operations role, not a Human Resources position.
Job Description
- Experience Required:5 - 8 years of warehouse labor standards analytics and management
- Experience Required: CAD / AutoCAD and Manhattan or other warehouse management systems experience
- Experience Required: 2-3 years of team leadership / management experience
- Experience Desired: experience within a unionized environment / interpretation of labor agreements
- Education Desired: Bachelors Degree Industrial Engineering
- Ability to travel regionally as required (about 25%)
Job Responsibilities
- Manage team monitoring engineered labor standards in warehousing for multiple warehouse operations.
- Manage team monitoring engineers labor standards for transportation operations.
- Monitor labor standard effectiveness (delays, transition, time utilization) to include operational reporting for all warehousing operations
- plan, analyze and implement changes to labor engineering standards based on process changes within warehouse operations
- Ensure completion of all annual and regular PIT observations and monthly safety scripts. Manage and maintain recordkeeping of all safety scripts and files
- Manage and assign daily and weekly assignments to department team members; ensure that all work is done on a timely basis and that all department Team Members are properly trained. Conduct training of all managers and supervisors on Labor Management systems.
- Manage the issuance of all daily and weekly PCWs and create corresponding disciplinary letters, ensuring accuracy of information and compliance with the Local 636 Labor Standard Agreement. Coordinate and oversee observations for disciplined Team Members with operations team.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationship with management, attorneys, union officials, and all Team Members
- Manage and monitor new hire productivity progression and labor performance compliance; create and manage tracking and discipline system to maintain consistency with new hires
- Update the LM system with weekly and yearly bids for all buildings; manage all new hires and terminations into or from the LM and WM Manhattan systems; manage the incentive database to provide payroll with weekly data
- Manage Learning Resource Center (LRC) for all OK Grocery and HBC Team Members to include entering new hire orientation, safety training and scripts, and all other training
- Create and update CAD drawings of all warehouse locations.
- Support Supply Chain Transformation and RSC Continuous Improvement projects
- Ensure Manhattan upgrade labor standards implemented on time as part of go live at all locations.
