At GDIT, people are our differentiator. Our work depends on a Network Engineer, joining our Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) F-35 IT program in Arlington, VA.
The Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) F-35 IT program support contract provides knowledge-based, information assurance and cybersecurity IT services to the F-35 Lightning II Joint Program Office (JPO). Our services include program management, enterprise performance management, enterprise architecture, implementation of emerging capabilities and requirements, life cycle management, operations & maintenance, enterprise data management, service desk support and IT training.
HOW OUR NETWORK ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, and data center networks.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of Nutanix solutions.
Manage network security, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
Troubleshoot network issues and provide timely resolution.
Optimize network performance and scalability.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
Design, implement, and maintain Cisco voice systems, including Cisco Unified Border Element (CUBE) and Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) components.
Provide support services for SIP signaling and be the final escalation point (Tier 3) for voice-related issues.
Assist with the design and installation of Cisco network equipment to support enterprise-level VoIP architectures.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate voice solutions seamlessly.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED (Required)
Security Clearance Level: Secret clearance
Required Experience:
6 years of experience in an enterprise LAN/MAN/WAN environment.
4 years of concurrent experience in network administration and analysis.
Experience working with appropriate complex network administration and maintenance.
Experience working with complex system implementations and organizational processes
to include maintaining network system documentation.
Experience maintaining the integrity and security of networks and connected systems.
Experience evaluating vendor products and making recommendations to purchase
hardware, software, and coordinating installation.
Experience in developing and monitoring policies and standards related to the use of
computing resources.
Experience in developing and implementing testing strategies and documenting results.
Network Skills:
Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds).
Knowledge of routing and switching (Cisco).
Strong knowledge of SIP signaling and call flows.
Nutanix Experience:
Familiarity with Nutanix hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) solutions.
Knowledge of Nutanix Prism management platform..
Call Management:
Experience with call routing, VoIP, and telephony systems.
Knowledge of Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) or similar platforms.
Cisco CUBE (session border element). MS Teams and Verizon integration.
Virtualization (VM):
Proficiency in virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Prism, Azure).
Ability to manage virtual machines (VMs) and troubleshoot related issues.
Required Certifications: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP);
DoD 8140 Work Role: 441 Network Operations Specialist certification
Education:
BS/BA degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering Information Technology Management, Information Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems Management or a related technical or IT discipline. Allowable Substitution: 6 years of additional related experience or 4 years of additional related experience with an AA/AS degree.
