HOW CYBER SECURITY TECHNICIAN III WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Monitors and reports on call volumes, alarm responses, and incident reports to ensure appropriate levels of service are met
- Identifies and responds to incidents, to prevent or limit damage to assets, and report incidents
- IDS monitoring and analysis, network traffic and log analysis, prioritization and differentiation between potential intrusion attempts, determination of false alarms, insider threat and APT detection, and malware analysis
- Carries out triage on security events, coordinates incidents with Incident Management Team, IT operations, network engineering, and application teams
- Coordinates the development of reports from the SIEM, NIDS, and HIDS
- Provide updates to the daily security operations briefing
- Resolves technical problems and answers queries by telephone or self-service ticket in support of internal and/or outside customer computer hardware, software, network, system/application access, and telecommunications systems.
- Diagnoses, identifies, isolates, and analyzes problems utilizing historical database records.
- May route calls to product line specialists, application, or system support specialists.
- Maintains and updates records and tracking databases.
- Alerts management to recurring problems and patterns of problems.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
- HS/GED and 3+ years of relevant experience or equivalent years of experience
- Help/Service Desk/Call Center experience
- Familiarity w/ security practices and networking, ticketing, and reporting
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust
- Security+ certification is required to start.
- ITIL v4 required within 90 days of hire
- US Citizenship is required due to the client and nature of the work

- Security Tools experience such as Tenable, MacAfee ePO, Splunk, Palo Alto, Forescout, RSA Netwitness as well as platform experience such as Linux and Windows

This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
