HOW A SYSTEM SUPPORT SPECIALIST WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
- Must be able to operate without technical supervision.
- Must be able to solve complex hardware and/or software problems.
- Provides guidance and technical support to lesser experienced technicians.
- Monitors and responds to hardware and software problems utilizing a variety of hardware and software testing tools and techniques
- Installs and configures network hardware and software
- Provides network troubleshooting and support
- Provides technical support and training to end-users
- Administers Network Security
- Backs up file server data
- Provides complex server maintenance
- Sets up new users and deletes old users from the network
- Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned
- Moderate travel may be required
- Participates in special projects as required
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
- Education: AA/AS in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training
- Required Experience: 6+ years of related experience; Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network troubleshooting and support; Comprehensive knowledge of desktop operating systems and applications
- Required Technical Skills: Comprehensive knowledge of routers, switches, patch panels, concentrators, associated terminals, and related network hardware and software
- Required Skills and Abilities: Strong communication and documentation skills; strong ability to advise and educate leadership through non-technical terms; must be able to work as part of a team; be flexible and have the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
- Location: On customer site
- Clearance: Must obtain Secret
- SEC+ is highly preferred
- US Citizenship required

This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
