Job Description SummaryThe Lead Embedded Software Engineer will report to the Software Manager within the GE Evendale Advanced Technologies Organization. The engineer will be responsible for the development, validation, and verification of toolchains and flight critical software that enables the safe operation of ground and flight test technology demonstrator vehicles. The execution technology demonstrators is central to the realization of aviation industry sustainability goals in the first half of the 21st century.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
As the Lead Embedded Software Engineer, you will:
•
Participate in all facets of the systems engineering process – system architecture, systems engineering, and project management
•
Own the execution, documentation, and proliferation of knowledge on the embedded software build process
•
Integrate with control systems, methods, performance, and engine transient analysis to realize a software development environment that aligns with enterprise simulation demands
•
Define and formalize system, hardware, software, and human integration requirements
•
Define and execute engineering lifecycle test, validation, and verification activities
•
Apply Lean principles, GE best practices, and design standards to control system software designs
•
Validate and verify software designs in a diversity of system integration environments – from local desktop computer simulations to fully representative flight tests
•
Present designs and validation results to internal (GE) and external (customer, agency, government, …) customers
•
Collaborate effectively in a diverse, global, distributed work environment
Additionally, you will be responsible to continually mature your personal and professional development through maintaining an individual training plan, seeking and providing mentorship, and developing formal career path options and objectives.
Qualifications/Requirements:
•
Bachelor’s Degree in engineering from an accredited college or university
•
At least three years of experience in digital engineering

Coding experience in MATLAB, python, C/C++, SCADE, VBA, etc.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
