Job Description SummaryLead Manufacturing Specialist responsible for coordinating the flow of materials, according to production schedules, into Marine and Industrial Assembly in Building 800 in Evendale, and CF6 Assembly in Durham. Plan and schedule material/production needs. Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution and focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. In this role you will work with Operations Leaders, Supervisors, Process Engineers, and interact with other business units to facilitate assembly of engines. In this role you will also work with the Kaizen Promotion Office to accelerate BLDG 800’s Lean Transformation and reduce overall engine assembly lead time.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- · Manage master planning, material processes and systems, prepare and update production schedules and purchasing needs. Ensure operational alignment with production plan and KPIs. Optimize inventory and process improvements.
- Includes indirect people management responsibility. Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.
- Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
- Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Lean Manufacturing) + minimum of 3 years of experience in Lean Manufacturing.
