Overview:
The Executive Director at CopperWood is responsible for managing the overall operations of the facility in compliance with federal, state, local, and FSCSC standards and regulations. This includes ensuring financial stability, maintaining quality standards, and fostering community partnerships.
II. Specific Tasks/Duties:
Organizational Leadership :
- Achieve organizational, financial, and quality objectives.
- Ensure service lines and programs are responsive to community needs and deliver quality care effectively and economically.
Policy Development :
- Oversee the development and implementation of written policies and procedures aligned with facility goals.
Resident Rights :
- Ensure residents' rights to fair treatment, self-determination, privacy, and civil rights are maintained.
Public Relations:
- Establish and maintain a public relations program that serves the best interests of the community and the facility.
Community Relations :
- Establish and maintain working relationships with the medical profession and other health-related facilities and organizations.
Department Supervision :
- Meet with department supervisors to address operational issues and improve services.
Financial Management:
- Monitor economic conditions and adjust operations as necessary to maintain quality resident care.
- Prepare and allocate resources according to the annual operating budget approved by the governing board.
Regulatory Compliance :
- Ensure financial records and cost reports are submitted to government agencies as required.
Representation :
- Represent the facility in dealings with outside agencies and third-party payers.
Delegation (5%):
- Delegate authority, responsibility, and accountability to department heads.
Professional Development :
- Attend educational workshops, seminars, and meetings to stay updated on changes in the healthcare field.
Facility Maintenance :
- Ensure the facility is clean, safe, and well-maintained for resident comfort and convenience.
Family Liaison :
- Plan, implement, and maintain adequate communication with families or residents.
Other Responsibilities :
- Perform other related duties as necessary or directed by the governing board.
IV. Position Requirements:
- Education: Undergraduate degree in an applicable area of study (Masters preferred).
- Experience: 5-7 years relevant long-term care managerial experience (7-10 years preferred).
- Licensure: Indiana licensed Nursing Home Administrator.
