Overview:
This position directs Bank initiatives that improve enterprise data quality, governance, reporting, and analytics. Leads a team of associates who facilitate technical innovation and continuous improvement initiatives. Provides expert guidance and leadership to associate team, management, and lines of business. Builds and maintains collaborative partnerships within the Bank to ensure initiative success. Oversees all Enterprise Data Warehouse activities, including the creation and maintenance of related documentation. Develops and implements strategies that achieve data management goals in alignment with wider organizational objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Data Enhancement - Directs initiatives that enhance the quality, management, and storage of enterprise data. Leads a team of associates who facilitate initiatives and data management. Oversees all activities that improve profiling, exception reporting, data analysis, and issue resolution as well as general fixes for the Enterprise Data Warehouse. Delegates work tasks and makes adjustments as needed to ensure the appropriate data governance.
- Business Strategy - Creates and implements strategies that develop the Bank's data management capabilities. Designs a strategic road to achieve planned objectives. Works cross-functionally to mature department presence within Bank business units, serving as an expert resource to other management, associates, and project teams. Maintains a strong knowledge of current and emerging technologies or trends impacting the financial service industry. May serve on committees, participate in industry events, or other activities that develop a knowledge base within the Bank.
- Business Support - Creates data policies and procedures to be used both within the department and enterprise-wide. Reviews feedback from associates in order to identify areas of improvement within data management capabilities. Oversees data validation and reporting to ensure the quality and completeness of data prior to business use. Directs the creation and maintenance of technical documentation for the Enterprise Data Warehouse. Makes modifications as necessary to Enterprise Data Warehouse processes in order to enhance efficiencies.
- Managerial Functions - Establishes and monitors expectations to achieve company and department goals. Makes appropriate changes to team policies, procedures, and efficiencies in order to meet objectives. Manages the performance, training, and evaluation of assigned staff. Maximizes department achievements by providing professional development.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience in Data Management or Data Analytics OR High School Diploma or GED and 12 years of experience in Data Management or Data Analytics
Preferred Education: Advanced degree
Preferred Area of Experience: Prior management
Skill(s): Understanding of data warehousing and transformation as well as extract, transform, and load processes, Knowledge of Cognos, SQL, and/or SAS, Ability to write and understand SQL and/or SAS programming language, Knowledge of technologies and trends impacting the financial service and insurance industry
