Overview:
This role provides assists the supervisors to ensure all major electrical, mechanical, controls, and life safety equipment is fully operational through proper inspection, maintenance, and repair activities. Responsible for continuous oversight of the group Policies & Procedures, while continuously improving the training programs for each. Provides technical training, guidance, oversight, and physical support to the entire Critical Facilities Team. Provides support leadership of department projects from conception to completion. This role serves as the department's liaison for internal and external audits in maintaining documentation and reporting quarterly to the Director of Critical Facilities. Support manager level operational needs & coverage in the absence of their peers.
Responsibilities:
- Facility Technical Support - Review, plan, and follow-up of all repairs and preventive maintenance activities. Investigates and resolves unusual problems or difficulties in performing maintenance projects. Reviews work orders to ensure that assignments are completed. Responsible for quarterly facilities inspections. Aid with root cause analysis of equipment failures & technical repairs. Responsible for responding to emergency situations through established communication plans and emergency response procedures. Responsible for being on-call in emergency work situations and inclement weather.
- Supervisory Support - Assists supervisors with the development of a work force capable of effective, prompt, and professional maintenance and repair. Establishes and monitors policy & procedural expectations, including oversight of facility(s) performance. Makes appropriate changes to maintenance guidelines, procedures, and routines in order to meet objectives. Assists with the selection, training, and assignment of technical staff in addition to providing oversight of the department's professional development goals.
- Coordination - Assists in directing efforts of technical team throughout corporate buildings to maximize efficiency while minimizing operational disruptions. Partners with business units, managers, and other stakeholders on planned and completed work, risks, and impacts.
- Project Management - Assists & manages projects from basic to highly detailed in scope for the department. Assesses facility needs, obtains quotes for necessary work, creates status reports, and other tasks related to managing projects. Reviews and keeps updated 30-yr capital plans for major renovation projects.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in Project management, knowledgeable in HVAC & Electrical systems, maintenance/construction management systems, building maintenance, building operations, supervision of vendors. OR High School Diploma or GED and 10 years of experience in Project management, knowledgeable in HVAC & Electrical systems, maintenance/construction management systems, building maintenance, building operations, supervision of vendors.
Preferred Education: Certifications in an applicable trade, an associate degree in technical trade or an applicable bachelor degree.
Preferred Area of Study: Project Management or Electrical, Mechanical, Facility Management.
Preferred Area of Experience: Strong project management & communication abilities, excellent procedural experience, with a proven track record in managing multiple objectives concurrently. Good technical aptitude with vendor management experience.
License or Certification Type: Valid driver's license Required
Skill(s): Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, life safety monitoring, and control systems typically used in base building environments., Proactive in planning and execution of tasks that have been prioritized by risk factors and need., The ability to work with a large team of technical individuals, and use their skill sets to help the overall Team be more successful.
