Overview:
This position provides fixed income, structured, and UIT products and expertise to First Citizens Investor Services (FCIS) associates for their clients. Communicates with FCIS associates and advises on when these products are appropriate. Serves as a liaison between FCIS trade desk, external bond desks, and clearing firms to determine and administer offering availability and ensure all regulatory requirements are met.
Responsibilities:
- Sales Support & Consultation - Provides consultation to FCIS associates on the review of client investment positions, suggestions of appropriate products, and bond ladder building. Handles complex trade problems and inquiries regarding all aspects of trading, compliance, and products knowledge. Generates sales ideas in the context of continually changing market conditions. Facilitates FCIS sales strategies.
- Business Support - Develops and maintains strong working relationships with other securities dealers. Maintains and updates the appropriate sites for fixed income and structured product trading. Tracks and reports progress to appropriate parties. Assists management with special projects and ensures compliance within FCIS activities regarding industry standards.
- Market Analysis & Product Management - Conducts analysis of market trends including changing regulations, competitor options, and evolving customer needs. Ensures Initial and ongoing management of products with a coordinated strategy by collaborating with both internal and external parties to implement enhancements and resolve issues. Assists in all stages of development for a business product. This includes but is not limited to research, planning & design, compiling resources, execution, and monitoring product launches. Recommends changes based on market analysis results to increase profitability and product appeal.
- Trading Resource - Provides resources for FCIS associates regarding fixed income products. Communicates internal policies and procedures, clearing firm policies, and trading rules or guidelines. Maintains a strong current knowledge of all laws and regulations applicable to fixed income. Monitors reports and external information to stay current on changing trade factors.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in Direct distribution of fixed income, structured product, and unit investment trust products OR High School Diploma or GED and 10 years of experience in Direct distribution of fixed income, structured product, and unit investment trust products
License or Certification Type: Possess value Series 7, 24, 53, 63, 65 or 66 Required, Possess state-specific life and health insurance licenses Preferred
