Overview:
The Supervisor Deposit Operations- Court Liaison position oversees deposit operations, associates, and processes to ensure regulatory compliance and accurate financial reporting. Protects the Bank against operational, legal, credit, and compliance risks through the ongoing review of daily activities. Mitigates losses by investigating potential fraud and internal control deficiencies. Researches exceptions and oversees loans in transit. Monitors reconciliations for deposits, loans, and general ledger accounts. Reviews legal requests and documentation, negotiating terms served on the Bank and attending court as necessary. Works closely with other departments, law enforcement, and other stakeholders to take appropriate action on potential losses and exposures.
Responsibilities:
- Legal Support – Assists in-house legal counsel with management of bank’s litigation portfolio and related matters, including: (1) researching, investigating, analyzing, and ensuring timely responses to claims, complaints, subpoenas, and other legal process served on the bank. Coordinating with other business unites within the Bank on document productions, responses to subpoenas and other court filings; and interfacing with outside counsel
- Administrative Support - Supports implementation and maintenance of document templates. Reviews legal support processes and procedures, identifying areas of improvement and obstacles to change.
- Documentation- Drafts, revises and maintains letters
- Communication – Communicates directly in-person, by telephone, by videoconference, and by email with directors, officers, and other business leaders and associates. Must communicate clearly, effectively, and politely.
- Business Support - Manages the accurate, timely processing of transactions, legal, and client requests. Resolves exceptions and monitors balance sheets for high dollar reconciliations. Directs research and analysis into operational ledgers of acquired institutions. Ensures regulatory compliance as related to tax, escheat, and trust account reporting. Develops statistical and departmental status reports for management.
- Risk Mitigation - Mitigates potential losses, exposures, or risks to the Bank through the review and correction of deposit operations. Collaborates with other departments to mitigate risk of breach and loss. Maintains communications with law enforcement, attorneys, and other legal parties. Compiles, reviews, and take appropriate action for legal documentation and requests. Negotiates the terms of legal requests served on the Bank.
- Auditing - Performs regular audits on deposit operations, processes, and systems. Ensures the department is functioning within legal guidelines for various federal regulations, and adherence to all Bank standards and procedures. Develops and maintains internal controls. Facilitates both internal and external audits, exams, and other business reviews.
- Supervisory Functions - Assesses work of Bank Operations associates for accuracy, process improvements, and efficiencies. Ensures associate compliance with all policies and procedures. Manages the performance of assigned staff, which may include development, training, and staff evaluations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of experience in Financial Services including supervisory OR High School Diploma or GED and 7 years of experience in Financial Services including supervisory

- Knowledge of civil litigation and legal processes preferred.

- Experience in paralegal, legal assistant or banking specific emphasis on litigation preferred
