First Citizens Bank hiring for Risk Officer I/II - Regulatory Remediation Oversight jobs in Fuquay-Varina, NC, US
Overview:
As part of First Citizens Bank’s Regulatory Affairs function, the Regulatory Remediation Oversight (RRO) team is responsible for partnering with internal stakeholders across the Bank to execute on regulatory response and issue remediation, training and awareness initiatives, management of the RRO Council, and development and oversight of the Bank’s Confidential Supervisory Information (CSI) program.
We are seeking an experienced professional to join our growing team to support the RRO team’s training and awareness, council management, and CSI related initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing and effectively delivering training presentations to key stakeholders. Additionally, the candidate should possess knowledge of bank governance processes and reporting, as well as banking regulations and requirements. The candidate should also possess demonstrated experience working with senior leaders and associates across all levels of the organization to build trust and credibility through strong interpersonal skills, clear communication, and consistent actions. A candidate with a background in banking risk management or compliance, and familiarity with regulatory relations/affairs related-work is preferred.
*This position can work remote from anywhere within the United States.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with building out the Regulatory Affairs training program roadmap by working with key stakeholders to identify training opportunities, developing and executing on the established training schedule, drafting presentation materials, and facilitating training sessions across the Bank on a variety of regulatory topics and processes.
- Support the RRO Council by managing the council production schedule, coordinating stakeholder outreach and the gathering of meeting materials, and preparing/reviewing meeting materials for timely distribution to council members.
- Assist with Senior Management and Board committee reporting deliverables, as needed.
- Support the build-out of the Bank’s CSI Program, including but not limited to, drafting desktop procedures, maintaining the CSI sharing log, and educating associates on processes and supervisory expectations related to the handling of CSI.
- Follow-up with associates accordingly and use high degree of judgment to review, resolve, or escalate any concerns that may arise that would impact project deadlines or ability to supervisory expectations.
- Assist with special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Financial Services, Enterprise Risk Management, Operational Risk Management, Compliance, Audit, Finance, or Accounting OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Financial Services, Enterprise Risk Management, Operational Risk Management, Compliance, Audit, Finance, or Accounting

- Familiarity with regulatory affairs/relations related work, such as exam management, issue management, response management and reporting, is a plus.
- Proficient to advanced skills with the Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Outlook, with the ability to create, edit, and format documents, tools, spreadsheets, presentations, and emails.
The base pay for this position is relative to your experience but the range is generally $98,000 to $160,000 per year. This position is eligible for variable compensation, which may be in the form of incentive, bonus, or commission pay.
