Overview:
This position is responsible for the planning, design and manage End of Life (EOL), vulnerability remediation efforts, Software Upgrades and Patching for multiple high-priority Bank applications. Addresses failed components or technical issues and provides resolution. Trains less experienced associates and assists management in monitoring team performance. Collaborates with peers, managers, and cross-platform teams to align projects and tasks with wider organizational goals. The candidate should be a strong-willed candidate that is passionate around technology and comes with a plethora of experience around supporting large and complex infrastructure of different types of technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Technical Expertise
- Maintains a strong knowledge base of primary application, interface applications, and system integrations through ongoing research and education. Manages special or advanced technical projects.
- Evaluate and implement solutions for vulnerability remediation, including the deployment of security patches and fixes.
- Maintain accurate records of end-of-life assets, vulnerability assessments, software upgrades, and patching activities.
- Utilize proper documentation procedures to ensure all efforts are tracked.
- Utilize Agile Methodologies to its fullest extent for planning and management activities.
- Provides guidance, mentorship, and leadership to less experienced associates in the work group.
- Technical Support
- Leads efforts to implement, integrate, upgrade, and support complex technical systems that execute business applications. Responsible for assigned technical areas including LDAP, LINUX, WebSphere, data backups, and purging. Resolves complex problems and failures that occur in assigned applications and systems. Leads disaster recovery plans for assigned applications.
- Develop and implement strategies to identify and manage technology assets approaching their end of life, including hardware and software.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess the vulnerability status of technology assets and prioritize remediation efforts.
- Plan, schedule, and oversee software upgrades, patching, and system updates to ensure the security and performance of technology infrastructure.
- System Testing
- Develops and oversees a comprehensive testing plan. Investigates, analyzes, and determines user needs. Verifies the successful implementation of software, patches, and upgrades.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices related to software and system maintenance.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities in technology infrastructure.
- Apply Automation techniques where necessary to manage overall “Business as Usual” efforts around application management.
- System Enhancement
- Utilizes end user feedback and requests to develop system improvements that impact applications. Determines solutions for known issues and business needs. Coordinates with interface applications and other business units to verify request definitions, then makes appropriate system configuration or parameter changes.
- Stay informed about emerging threats, software updates, and security trends to proactively address vulnerabilities.
- Train and educate team members and employees on the importance of timely software upgrades and patching.
- Create and oversee Protocols and Procedures for the use of any new software application.
*This position will be 3 days in the office, in Raleigh and 2 days remote
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in Technical work in Application Development, Server Administration, Information Security or Engineering OR High School Diploma or GED and 10 years of experience in Technical work in Application Development, Server Administration, Information Security or Engineering
Preferred Area of Experience: Financial Services Industry with project management and project delivery experience.
