Overview:
This position is responsible for projects of a substantial scope and influence to enhance the Bank's technological capabilities. Leverage in depth business and technical knowledge to manage the execution and administration of project life cycle including planning, scope definition, design, and delivery. Recognize and drive organizational transformations outside of projects. Directs both technical and non-technical aspects with an advanced understanding of project management approaches. Tracks and reports progress against milestones, budgetary guidelines, or other performance indicators to analyze strategic impact of project activities. Coordinates activities of IT teams with other lines of business to achieve project goals. May oversee the work of less experienced project managers in the work group. This position will primarily support IT Infrastructure projects, with some potential overlap in IT Strategy, IT Operations, and IT Risk. Position is located in either Raleigh, NC or Phoenix, AZ.
Responsibilities:
- Project Planning - Responsible for development, execution, and management of large-scale projects involving technical resources, associates, or assets. Maximizes available resources while minimizing risk. Ensures high quality results by employing best practices, engaging appropriate expertise, and making administrative decisions.
- Project Management - Coordinates a team of IT associates throughout project life cycle. Conveys clear expectations of project goals. Directs work activities and keeps team on track with project schedule. Resolves complex and escalated issues as they arise. Develops and maintains a strong knowledge of project management approaches, applications, and technical processes related to project goals. Recommends and implements modifications to improve project results.
- Collaboration - Works in conjunction with individuals, business units, and outside parties. Assists in negotiations with external consultants or technology vendors. Facilitates communication between IT teams and other business units as necessary. May serve as a project resource to IT leadership or as a part of larger enterprise-wide initiatives.
- Reporting - Develops methods of tracking progress and performance. Analyzes results to determine potential issues, risks, and enhancements. Conveys recommendations to appropriate parties through reports or other documentation. May review tasks status, applications, or technical processes to determine metrics.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in Advanced Project Management and technology knowledge OR High School Diploma or GED and 10 years of experience in Advanced Project Management and technology knowledge
Preferred Area of Experience: Software Development, Infrastructure
License or Certification Type: Project Management Professional certification (or equivalent) Required
Preferred Project Experience: IT Infrastructure. Experience in IT Strategy/IT Operations/IT Risk programs strongly preferred. Experience delivering projects via Agile methodology a plus.
