Overview:
This position will play a key role for the IT Regulatory Coordination oversight function by ensuring complex information from multiple internal business partners flows efficiently and effectively to external regulators. This role will be responsible for coordinating regulatory exams for technology, is responsible for overseeing supervisory activities, and providing expertise to ensure the activities are well-coordinated and well-managed. The role requires strong working knowledge of banking regulations, especially those applicable to large financial institutions, and experience with regulatory examination management activities and managing responses to regulatory issues. Reviews regulatory requests and coordinates responses from each responsible area within technology and writes responses to inquiries as needed, ensuring response completeness and accuracy. Coordinates executive reviews of content prior to submission to regulators or auditors, coordinating with other departments as needed. This role must have the ability to develop effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders by building trust and credibility through strong interpersonal skills, clear communication and consistent actions.
This role will be Hybrid with requirment to be on-site during regulatory exams
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for supporting regulatory exams in coordination with Regulatory Relations and IT Stakeholders
- Manage and oversee all aspects of regulatory exams, reviews and continuous monitoring activities, ensuring complex internal information from multiple business partners flows effectively and efficiently, while coordinating timely with Regulatory Relations
- Prepares materials in support of regulatory exams, to include presentations, preparing speakers, reviewing content, and monitoring actions to closure.
- Maintain strong working knowledge of banking regulations and expectations for IT risk management for large financial institutions
- Use high degree of judgment to review, address and resolve complex issues with internal stakeholders, providing expertise in preparation, during, and through issue response.
- Working with senior leaders and all levels of the organization to build trust and credibility through strong interpersonal skills, clear communication and consistent actions
- Build effective regulatory relationships during supervisory interactions
- Drive consistent, high quality results while meeting regulatory deadlines
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Risk management, or financial analysis, or statistical modeling OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Risk management, or financial analysis, or statistical modeling
Additional Requirements:
- Prior experience working directly with regulatory examiners
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence decision-making
- Ability to effectively communicate regulatory information to technical, management, and executive audiences
- Strong understanding of regulatory activities common to large financial institutions
- Demonstrated ability to make decisions while dealing with complex issues in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of risk techniques and practices
- Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail, including the ability to prioritize and ensure consistency across regulatory activities
- Use high degree of independent judgment to accomplish objectives
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint, Teams
