Overview:
This position provides leadership to Business Resolution associates who manage a loan portfolio of problem relationships. Provides direction on the collection, resolution, servicing, recovery, and management of Business purpose problem assets to maximize the realization value to the Bank. Develops procedures, monitors credit underwriting, and mitigates risks as part of ongoing administration efforts. Responsible for maintaining Business resolution quality standards through oversight of team activities and processes, providing expertise and personal leadership to achieve department goals. This role requires the ability to stand up a dedicated and focused Business arm of Credit Resolution, to include technology, development of policy & procedures, create efficient workflows, and establish quality assurance & quality controls. The position will manage and oversee staff that is responsible for early default collection efforts, resolution of at-risk business purpose loans, and the recovery efforts for losses that occur in the Business purpose space.
Responsibilities:
- Managerial Functions - Establishes and monitors expectations to achieve company and department goals. Makes appropriate changes to team, procedures, and efficiencies in order to meet objectives. Manages the performance, training, and evaluation of assigned staff. Serves as a front-line resource to executive, line or staff management on Business resolution matters.
- Business Resolution - Oversees the resolution of problem assets, maximizing realization value. Provides guidance on the resolution and servicing of criticized credits handled in the branches.
- Loan Expertise - Remains current on regulations, compliance requirements, Bank policies, and procedures. Exhibits a thorough knowledge of current bankruptcy laws, loan impairment process, and restructure strategies. May serve as a resource to wider business units on the appropriate structuring and monitoring of loan portfolios.
- Reporting - Monitors assigned portfolios to report losses or significant changes. Records all actions, conversations, and financial information in department portfolio or loan management system. Presents cases to Special Assets Working Group.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience in Commercial Resolution or Small Business Administration OR High School Diploma or GED and 12 years of experience in Commercial Resolution or Small Business Administration
