Responsibilities:
In this role, you will:
- Be part of a dynamic team with interesting projects. Accountabilities can and may include areas such as research, analytics, projects, strategy, process review and improvement, as well as technology enhancements and support.
- Attend professional development sessions, informational sessions, networking and community service events.
- Have a dedicated manager and program manager to help you navigate the bank and the internship program.
- Be assigned a project which will be designed to improve a specific process or solve a problem that will be presented at the close of the internship.
- Prepare a wrap-up presentation to be shared with the division leader and other key stakeholders in the company to outline their accomplishments and experience during the internship.
First Citizens Bank is seeking multiple Interns for our summer program. Interns will participate in select portions of the Corporate Intern program while spending most of their time in intense financial analyst entry activities and may work in the following areas:
Controller/Accounting/Treasury Operations
- Assist with month end close processes including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, analysis & reporting.
- The goal is for our intern to develop an insight into the controller function within the banking sector.
- Reconcile accounting data, general ledger entries, and supporting schedules.
- Support project management, assist tracking key milestones for process development and automation.

- Ability to take direction and absorb information quickly
- Currently a Sophomore or a Junior
- Pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or Economics with focuses in: Data Science, Data Analytics,
- A working understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
