Overview:
The Director, Project Office provides Bank leadership with critical information for prioritizing initiatives and tracking project progress. Utilizes leadership and project management expertise to ensure project initiatives are delivered as planned and committed.
Proven ability in leading and implementing large scale change (Large Financial Institutions Regulatory Reporting, systems integration, workflow optimization). Strong aptitude in driving and managing deadlines while engaging workstream partners in achieving time driven deliverables is a hallmark for success in this role. Provides governance for Credit portfolio, programs and projects establishing/ensuring standards and processes for effective program delivery. Identifies, socializes, and responds to escalated project issues that may impede project delivery and coordinates solutions. This role regularly interacts with senior leadership and all colleague levels across Commercial Bank Business, Governance, Products, Risk and Credit, Compliance, Legal, 1,2,3 LOD .

Responsibilities:
- Lead and drive Portfolio oversight, including metrics and reporting
- Responsible for program delivery of a portfolio of Risk and Credit related initiatives of all scale
- Capability to encourage cross functional team members w/forward thinking, risk anticipation, understanding of escalation and mitigation steps/timelines
- Lead and drive integrated Program Management (chartering, program planning, status, RAID, budget formulation and tracking)
- Ensure effective governance design, facilitation, transparency, cross program artifact consistency
- Lead stakeholder management/engagement/coaching (all levels)
- Exercises enterprise lens and understanding of programs inside and outside Credit to align and address impacts
- Program delivery measurement scorecards
- Develop and support a standardized approach for Program and project management that is consumable across all levels of credit employees to effectively align Credit objectives against those of the combined Commercial Bank
- Provide governance for projects establishing and ensuring standards and processes for effective program delivery
- Align, monitor, and report program and project management activities including tracking of program objectives and outcomes, project performance against scope, timelines, cost etc.
- Serve as the central point of contact for program questions
- Understand the cross-functional interaction between all Credit and Commercial Bank initiatives to leverage best practices, related processes, critical stakeholders, and effective resource allocation
- Determine necessary reporting governance based on workstream allocation and cross-functional nature and prepare reporting materials accordingly
- Ensure effective governance structure is deployed for key programs across Credit and the Commercial Bank
- Sponsor deployment of approachable and sound program management discipline
- Provide oversight for identification and escalation of risk management concerns, progress, analytics, and monitoring various workstreams
- Provide ongoing support related to program and change management as needed across credit
- Project Strategy - Create strategies and recommends alternative approaches to accomplish project objectives. Manages risks through the development of contingency plans and mitigation strategies.
- Managerial Functions - Manages the performance, training, and evaluation of assigned staff. Maximizes project achievements by providing education and development.
- Project Expertise - Maintains a strong knowledge of best practices and methods of delivering project results through networking and education within the industry. Serves as an expert resource to project managers, Bank leadership, and other associates
The base pay for this position is relative to your experience but the range is generally $169,250.00 - $259,517.00 per year. This position is eligible for variable compensation, which may be in the form of incentive, bonus, or commission pay. Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience in Project Management and Strategic Planning OR High School Diploma or GED and 12 years of experience in Project Management and Strategic Planning
- License or Certification Type: Experience in Project Management Methodologies (Waterfall and Agile) Required, Certification in Project Management Methodology (Waterfall and Agile) Preferred, Experience in a System Development Lifecycle approaches
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
Preferred qualifications:
- Minimum 10+ years of progressive professional experience
- Experience in banking
- Project management experience on regulatory reporting initiatives
- Change management experience – especially with large scale implementations.
- Experience with project tracking software and approaches (i.e., Microsoft Project, Jira, Monday.com, KanBan, Waterfall, etc.)
- Experience building programs within Finance, Credit, Risk and/or 1, 2, 3 LOD is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree is required and MBA or other advanced degree desirable
- Required experience in Fintech, an agile environment, or within a product organization in banking/financial services
- Strong program management skills with the ability to build consensus across diverse business teams and jurisdictions
- Must be a quick learner, and connector of people and ideas, as well as deeply organized, highly motivated, and adaptable in fast paced, high growth environment
- Ability to create environment where workstream community collaborates thru project complexities with open mindedness, creativity, agility in thinking and tactics
- Ability to gather, analyze, interpret, and apply a wide range of data and inputs into a wide variety of audiences
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to drive projects forward and adopt new processes and projects
- Clear and strong communication skills, i.e., verbal, written, and listening
- Understanding of Regulatory Reporting expectations for Large Financial Institutions, Finance function(s), Credit and Risk functions, and strategic roadmap(s) is critical to driving timelines a plus.
