Overview:
This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office. Candidates must be located a commutable distance from the office.
The Enterprise Payments Command Center (EPCC) acts as the pulse and heartbeat for the payment ecosystem at First Citizens Bank. This Business Analyst II position coordinates directly with other operations, technology, product, and interacts with employees at all levels of the organization. The role is to provide comprehensive corporate-level preparedness and response coordination to payment incidents, as well as day to day disruptions, customer assets, stockholder interests, and the firm's reputation. This Analyst is responsible for monitoring, researching, reviewing, triaging, and analyzing data sources for dissemination and reporting purposes, to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures in a timely manner and in a fast-paced environment. The shift is variable due to the 24/7 operating nature of the Enterprise Payments Command Center.
This position performs advanced data analysis to identify factors that affect business profitability, growth, and efficiency. Assesses current practices, collects information and industry trends, and creates specifications to support business operations. Determines improvements or solutions to address identified issues. Prepares technical reports by examining and summarizing data. May occasionally guide less experienced analysts or assist in development of process enhancements.
Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis - Sources, compiles, and interprets data. Analyzes data for accuracy and efficiencies, effectively communicates analysis output.
- Conduct proactive research into potential risks; monitor external media feeds for threats to the firm's facilities and/or senior management
- Operational Support - Provides daily support for business operations by responding to inquiries, identifying issues, and working to improve standard practices. Assists in implementing recommended modifications and enhancements. May serve as an analytics resource to wider organization or business units.
- Compose and track incident Informationals to resolution; inform operations, treasury, technology, product; deliver information in verbal or written updates via internal communication platforms
- Triage and escalate cases with Legal, Compliance, and Regulatory Relations
- Monitor and support site and regional crisis management conference calls, gathering and providing intelligence and information (weather, travel, security, etc.) as required
- Identifying Objectives - Determines overall business needs through analysis and reporting. Suggests strategies to achieve company and department goals. Assists in creating specifications, project plans, or other forms of documentation to communicate business initiatives to wider work group.
- Participate and lead in payment incident response on a daily basis, identifying and triaging potential impacts to the firm
- Responsible for identifying business gaps and opportunities within the current payment ecosystem, including gathering information from a variety of sources internal to and external of the firm; normalizing and correlating the information; providing recommendations
- Reporting - Produces reports based on data analysis, industry trends, and process capabilities. Conveys patterns, problems, and areas of improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of experience in System Support or Analytics OR High School Diploma or GED and 7 years of experience in System Support or Analytics
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, equivalent military/law enforcement, and/or joint operations center/ financial experience
- Preference for directly transferable experience, and awareness & knowledge of incident management, business resilience, and payment operations.
- A self-starter with the ability to proactively identify individual priorities based upon team goals.
