Job DescriptionSenior Media Planning Manager is an expert within digital media and omni-channel planning. Develops and maintains strategic communication plans and media recommendations for various clients and objectives. Drives workflow with flawless quality and ensures agency deliverables to clients meet or exceed expectations and are delivered on time.The Senior Media Planning Manager is responsible for the day to day operations of the media planning department and will include the designing, development, and execution of digital media and advertising plans.
Job Duties:
- Manages a team of media planners to ensure partnership with Sales, Account Management, Adops, Clients and agencies are maintained at the highest level by advising and recommending the best media strategy for performance and reach of campaign goals with a focus on annual and quarterly planning
- Liaison with account team and creative team are apprised of changes to the plan as well as informs media planners of any changes to the plan
- Evaluates media opportunities and presents media plans then provides new strategic direction if media opportunities and plans are unable to meet specific targets
- Provides guidance to media planners (who will provide analytics on web metrics, monthly campaign performance reports to clients, and recommends optimizations when appropriate to improve media performance) on action steps to the specific analytics and metrics
- Oversees all digital media billing using monthly tracking reports and invoice reconciliation
- Manages a team of media planners and yield analysts (SPA analysts) responsible for maximizing the impact of the advertising campaigns
- Oversees the campaign tactics to monitor spending, managing budgets and control pacing, optimization and timelines for all media campaigns
- Manages the negotiations for media buys, pricing and media placement with vendors/cpgs
- Develops communications/presentations for media recommendations to ADRM leadership
- Determines methods and procedures on new assignments for media planners
Qualifications:
- Highly knowledgeable in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
- An independent self-starter who is self-directed yet also team-oriented
- Proven knowledge of solving complex problems or issues to take a broad perspective to provide solutions and best practices
- Working knowledge of team development, management and coaching
- Strong project management and leadership skills; must be well-organized with ability to multi-task on multiple projects
- Ability to manage employees through coaching, development and mentorship
- Capable of resolving escalating issues arising from various areas to mitigate and solve for risking the media plan
- Innovative thinker & problem-solver
- End to end planning mindset (how do we provide the optimal media approach at scale and deliver results)
- Strong troubleshooting skills and oversight of implementation and integration of new tools and/or technologies that will enable ADRM to work efficiently and effectively
- Ability to interpret and analyze data to provide insights for media planners to develop media packages and go to market strategies
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, Advertising, Communications or Related Field (master's degree preferred)
- 6+ years of media planning experience in digital media
- 5+ years of managerial (people managing) experience
- 7+ years of experience in paid search, display, mobile, video, and social media - experience with traditional and/or integrated media (email, direct mail, OOH, etc.) are a plus.
- Experience should include: Preparing data that supports target audience insights, competitive analysis, researching media opportunities, and presenting recommendations to client
