In addition, the position: - Operates in accordance with state, professional and federal regulations and guidelines. - Requires effective communication skills for working with patients, families, and caregivers. - Requires effective communication skills for departmental and interdepartmental relationships. - Requires competency in psychosocial assessment and treatment - May require psychologist or physician oversight according to state regulations - Maintains open and an on-going communication with hospital departments to ensure patient, staff, and hospital needs are met. QualificationsLicense or Certification: Licenses or Certificates: - State licensure or certification as appropriate to field of education (Licensed Professional Counselor); - CPR certification Education, Training and Years of Experience: - Master's Degree in Professional Counseling or Master's Degree and Certification in Counseling from an accredited university. Machines, Equipment Used:- General office equipment such as telephone, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, computer. Physical Requirements: - Good visual acuity and ability to communicate.- Ability to lift, lower, push, pull, and retrieve objects weighing a minimum of 20 pounds of medical supplies and equipment and the transferring and repositioning of patients. Reasonable assistance may be requested when lifting, pushing, and/or pulling are undertaken which exceeds these minimum requirements.Compliance:- Adheres to the company's Standards of Business Conduct.- Maintains current licensure and/or certifications, if applicable.Skills and Abilities:- Ability to speak, read, write, and communicate effectively.- Ability to coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines in a detail-oriented manner.- Ability to work independently without supervision.Environmental Conditions:- Indoor, temperature controlled, smoke-free environment.
