Operates as the director of nursing over the skilled rehabilitation unit. Using independent judgment, the Program Director organizes, develops, directs, and supervises all aspects of a program which includes operations and patient care provided by the program, in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, regulations, and guidelines to assure that the highest degree of quality care is rendered at all times. In addition, the Program Director:- Requires effective supervisory skills along with good communication skills for interdepartmental relationships. - Is responsible for staffing and scheduling to provide adequate coverage for patient services provided by the program- Serves on the administrative staff and is a representative of the program in the hospital meetings.- Is responsible for the preparation and monitoring of financial and budgeting concerns for the program.- Maintains open and an on-going communication with the Chief Nursing Officer and Director of Therapy Operations to ensure patient, staff, and business needs are met.The Program Director is responsible to help create an environment and culture that enables the hospital to fulfill its mission by meeting or exceeding its goals, conveying the hospital mission to all staff, holding staff accountable for performance, motivating staff to improve performance and being responsible for the operation of the department, measurement, assessment and continuous improvement of the department's performance.

Qualifications
License or Certification:- As required by the state requirements for the program or the discipline.
Education, Training and Experience:- Bachelor's degree- Additional training with a Master's or Doctor's degree in either a professional or management area is preferred.- Minimum five years of healthcare experience with two years in management is required.
Physical Requirements:- Good visual acuity and ability to communicate- Ability to lift, lower, push, pull and retrieve objects weighing a minimum of 30 pounds of medical supplies and equipment and the transferring and repositioning of patients. Reasonable assistance may be requested when lifting, pushing and/or pulling are undertaken which exceeds these minimum requirements.
