Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions
- Meets with prospective and existing customers and with other members of the sales team to collect and analyze information required to assess customers' technology needs in detail.
- Supports the Sales team, interfaces with customers and vendors to develop Cox Business proposals, gathering associated technical specifications, as needed to ensure their integrity.
- Assess how Cox Business technical solutions can integrate to meet the customer's technology needs. Supports Network Operations and Engineering to ensure that designed technology solution will meet customer needs and to ensure network availability/serviceability before orders are finalized.
- Supports product development teams as an active member to ensure the sales team's understanding of new products and to provide technical feedback to the product development team, as appropriate.
- Develops and delivers technical presentations to internal/external groups as needed.
- Supports the sales organization as the technical subject matter expert. Support may include attending sales calls, delivering technical portions of the sales presentation, explaining why Cox Business' proposed solution is the right one, and negotiating technical aspects of the proposal, as needed.
- Attend vendor meetings and perform site surveys, as required.
- Coordinates internal technical resources necessary to develop sales proposals and sales presentations on complex, high-end solutions.
- Provides technical guidance to customers, other members of the Sales team, and Project Managers to coordinate Cox Business solution implementations and migrations to ensure a smooth and consistent customer installation experience.
- Maintains documentation of customer's voice and data network, as required.
- Attends industry-related training to increase knowledge of Cox Business and competitor technology solutions, consultation, negotiation, and sales skills; attending strategic and/or development meetings with sales teams.
- Participates in discussions with members of the Sales and Sales Support team to develop Cox Business proposals and associated technical specifications, and responds to RFPs (request for proposals), as needed to ensure their technical integrity.
QUALIFICATIONSMINIMUM 6 years of experience in a related field; or a BS/BA with 2 years of experience in a related field; or a MS/MA with 2 years of experience in a related field
- 1 year of telecommunications (telephony, data, and video) experience
- Self-motivated with excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and within teams throughout the organization
- Ability to efficiently conduct consultative analysis and provide recommendations
- Proficient in computer operating systems, equipment and Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Valid driver's license, good driving record, reliable transportation
PREFERRED
- BS/BA in related discipline strongly desired
- 3 years of telecommunications (telephony, data, and video) experience with a proven level of competence with Firewalls and Switches, Windows servers, Active Directory, backup software
- Certification completion of OSI related competencies such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) programs or MEF-CECP 2.0 certification
- A proven level of experience with SD-WAN, Wi-Fi, SIP trunking, and virtualization / "*aaS" solutions and platforms such as DaaS, DRaaS, O365, IaaS, and PaaS.
