Job Purpose A unique opportunity to build financial management and project management expertise. Provides project and program financial analysis, basic project management and strategic planning support for the Cox Business (CB) Operations investment portfolios. Typical work involves a high-level of proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and other reporting tools. Effective communication of financial analysis, building strong business partner relationships, and an understanding of basic financial processes are essential in this role.
Major Tasks
- Completes thorough analysis of monthly financials; partners closely with the Project Managers to ensure that forecasts are correct, then compares forecasts to monthly actuals and provides variance explanations.
- Monitors financial risk across all projects and provides mitigation and management recommendations.
- Creates executive-level reporting to communicate project and program monthly financials.
- Coordinates and guides annual capital planning activities across CB Operations and other functional teams by developing and maintaining funding scenarios and comparing scenarios based on business value.
- Manages scope, schedule, and budget for single project with a clear roadmap.
- Performs client support, including pulling reports and fulfilling requests for data and proactively working with teams to drive business initiatives. Has an ability to analyze large amounts of raw data and determine key takeaways.
- Creates effective PowerPoint presentations, with the ability to clearly communicate and "tell the story."
- Performs ad-hoc analysis and develops program/project financial models to support business leaders in making key business decisions.
- Works closely with Business Operations to develop and maintain value/business cases for CB Transformation investments.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 6 years' experience in a related field (i.e., Business, Finance, Accounting, etc.)
- The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 4 years' experience; a Ph.D. and 1 year experience in a related field; or 10 years' experience in a related field
- 1+ year of experience in a management or lead role
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
- Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization.
- Advanced financial modeling and financial analysis
- Effective communication & presentation skills. Excellent knowledge and ability to create and present PowerPoint presentations.
- Attention to detail with the ability to understand concepts and translate that into financial impacts
- Self-starter with the ability to balance multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- BS/BA Business, Finance, Accounting, etc
- Experience in telecommunications industry
- Experience with Financial Reporting and Planning Systems (Sage, Hyperion, Essbase, OneStream)
