Cox Communications is seeking a skilled
Lead Platform Engineer to join our team and be a key member of our Network Enablement Technologies team. Considered a hybrid Platform engineer / Site Reliability Engineer, whose mission is to create a unified platform tooling ecosystem, to simplify and streamline processes for developers, and build automated solutions that govern our CI/CD pipelines. Ensuring resiliency, scalability and comprehensive observability of our platform and services ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provisioning infrastructure including servers, networking, storage, and cloud
- Developing automation scripts and tooling using an IT automation tool
- Building a CI/CD pipeline, including build/test/deployment workflows
- Monitoring system performance to analyze performance, security, and reliability
- Integrating security and compliance into the platform with encryption and access management
- Documenting configurations and processes so different teams understand how to use the same platform
- Collaborating with developers and other stakeholders to understand what they need from the platform
- Researching emerging technologies to build into the platform, as well as their potential impact
- Create automated processes for operational aspects of a system
- Configure Monitoring and Logging for system performance observability and reporting
- Configure Monitoring, Logging and Alerting for detecting issues
- Automate the monitoring, logging and alerting system use cases
- Provide On-Call support by being included in Support Team
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 6 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 4 years' experience; a Ph.D. and 1 year of experience; or 18 years' experience in a related field
- Experience in configuring and managing monitoring, logging and alerting tools, such as Prometheus, Grafana, Elastic Stack, Splunk, etc.
- Proficient in scripting languages, such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.
- Familiar with cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.
- Experience in designing, implementing and managing API gateways, such as Kong, Apigee, AWS API Gateway, etc.
- Knowledge of deployment and management techniques for microservices, such as Docker, Kubernetes, Istio, Helm, etc.
- Ability to use the ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) for collecting, processing and visualizing logs and metrics from distributed systems.
- Proficiency in maintaining the CI/CD pipeline using tools such as Ansible, AWX, Jenkins, GitHub, etc.
- Experience in automating and orchestrating the deployment and configuration of applications and infrastructure across different environments.
USD 106,700.00 - 177,900.00 per year
Compensation:Compensation includes a base salary of $106,700.00 - $177,900.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
