Responsibilities
- Design, Build, and Operate large, complex Datalakes that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
- Design, Build and Operate the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using Upsolver, AWS Glue, and AWS Athena.
- Interact effectively with other CAI groups gathering requirements for new initiatives, coordinate tasks across delivery teams and solve customer support requests.
- Facilitate the design and deployment of Datalake solutions by developing templates, playbooks, and managing infrastructure as code.
- Optimize the use of various data types considering storage (S3) benefits, processing, and retrieval from near real-time events, and unstructured data.
- Diagnose and Resolve Upsolver data ingestion workflows.
- Proactively monitor SDL AWS environments for errors, responding and troubleshooting issues on all CAI environments Non-prod/Prod on a timely manner.
- Coordinate and schedule downtimes to perform maintenance procedures.
- Use AWS best practices to keep SDL infrastructure secure.
- Leverage AWS services to efficiently monitor services (CloudWatch) or process data: Athena, Glue , Lambda, AWS RDS, S3.
- Leverage IAM roles to manage access to SDL resources.
- Manage access to Metabase, Create/Maintain Metabase Dashboards, and queries.
- Perform occasional database administration activities involving the AWS RDS instances supporting Metabase.
- Analyze existing infrastructure and make recommendations for improvements.
- Create/update CAI's database documentation about standard processes, and AWS/DataLake technology/infrastructure features.
- Stay current with changes in the technical area of expertise.
- Work with development teams to deploy code in production when needed.
- Participate in on-call rotations.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree or equivalent work experience.
- 8-10 years of hands-on experience developing data solutions in AWS.
- Extensive experience using AWS Services like RDS, Lambda functions, EC2, S3, Glue, Athena, EMR, Redshift, IAM and KMS.
- Experience monitoring AWS infrastructure using AWS CloudWatch.
- Experience developing data ingestions workflows with Upsolver is a must.
- Proficient on creating Lambda functions in AWS.
- Experience creating/maintaining reporting Dashboards in Metabase is a must.
- Managing infrastructure as code using Terraform is a must.
- Proven experience with AWS Glue and Athena for data analysis is a must.
- Experience optimizing Athena queries is highly desirable.
- Experience monitoring applications and AWS services using CloudWatch is a must.
- Working knowledge using Python for data enrichment.
- Building Datalakes using S3 for data processing as storage is a must.
- Ability to work with minimal direction, in a team environment.
- Proven ability to quickly learn and implement new technologies.
- Develop and maintain documentation and conduct knowledge transfer sessions with the team.
- Previous experience working with Hadoop is a plus.
USD 97,100.00 - 161,800.00 per year
Compensation:Compensation includes a base salary of $97,100.00 - $161,800.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
