Job Summary
The Senior EP may supervise any departmental service line in accordance with their training, including cardiovascular stress tests for individuals with and without chronic disease, Phase 2 and Phase 3 cardiac rehabilitation classes, holter/event monitor hook ups, EECP, etc. Assists with coordination of special patient, staff, and professional events, participates in writing and/or research projects, and provides orientations and training to new staff. The Senior EP provides input to management re: staff performance, assists with staff competencies, facilitates timely equipment repair/maintenance, assists with staff scheduling and physician coverage, and serves as department lead in the absence of the Program Director and Manager. The Senior EP also provides leadership for various departmental service lines or programs (ie, cardiac rehab referral intake, internship program, work groups, strategic planning initiatives, etc.).
Essential Functions
- Patient care responsibilities, including supervision of cardiovascular stress testing, cardiac rehabilitation, EECP, and/or holter/event monitor hook ups.
- Leadership role for various departmental service lines or programs, such as cardiac rehab referral intake, internship program coordination, work groups, strategic planning initiatives, etc.
- Assists manager with administrative responsibilities, including staff scheduling, securing physician coverage, staff competencies, Joint Commission preparedness, and equipment in-services/maintenance/repair.
- Coordination of special patient, staff and professional events and participation in departmental writing/research projects. Involvement in conferences, pursuing continuing education, and community presentations.
- Providing orientations and training to new staff and providing feedback to management re: staff performance.
- Consistently demonstrates Beaumont customer service standards.
- Regular interaction with and educational instruction to student interns.
Qualifications
- Required Bachelor's Degree Exercise Physiology.
- Preferred Master's Degree Exercise Physiology or related field.
- 4 years’ experience in cardiac rehabilitation and stress testing. Required
- Significant involvement in departmental and professional initiatives (e.g., student internship program, professional organization involvement, research/writing, etc.). Required
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required
- CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire preferred
- CRT-Clinical Exercise Physiologist, Certified (CEP) - ACSM American College of Sports Medicine Upon Hire required
