Job Summary
Supervises the delivery of high-quality food and nutritional services to Corewell Health patients, retail patrons, catering, administration and employees, including the delivery of quality patient tray services.
Essential Functions
- Supervises and coordinates the daily activities of employees in the kitchen, catering and retail areas, ensuring all deadlines and quality standards are met.
- Monitors and evaluates food and nutrition services operations to ensure that workflow and organization maximize resources and minimize delays.
- Ensures that a clean and sanitary environment is maintained, and that equipment is repaired and in good working order. Researches and recommends needed repairs or replacements for equipment, and performs follow up activities to ensure completion of repairs.
- Monitors and evaluates services provided by nutrition services employees, ensuring trays are distributed and retrieved in an orderly and timely manner and that all necessary information is documented for patient records.
- Ensures retail area and catering services are met, appropriately staffed and quality services provided. Collaborates with nursing staff in identifying and solving problems related to patient meal service.
- Supervises the activities of support employees, who are engaged in providing quality food and nutrition services to patients, retail patrons, and employees. Provides direction and support to subordinate employees to ensure effectiveness and efficiency. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning and assigning work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications
- Required Associate's Degree or equivalent in related field
- Formal training in food preparation and presentationRequired
- 2 years of relevant experience Skills, knowledge, abilities typically gained through 2+ years of related experience Required
- 2 years of relevant experience progressively responsible food service. Required
- Supervisory experience. Required
- CRT-ServSafe Manager - NRA National Restaurant Association Upon Hire required
- CRT-Dietary Manager, Certified (CDM) - CBDM Certifying Board for Dietary Managers RNCs (Fuller and Kalamazoo) Upon Hire preferred
