About the unit
Our institution has been treating patients with pulmonary hypertension since 2002. We are accredited as a Center of Comprehensive Care (CCC) through the Pulmonary Hypertension Association. Our program consists of an outpatient clinic and dedicated inpatient team with 24/7 on-call service. In the clinic, we closely collaborate with our subspecialty colleagues from Lung Transplant, Rheumatology, General Pulmonology and Interstitial lung disease program, Post Pulmonary Embolism program, and Cardiology. We offer treatment options that range from oral medications to continuous infusions to lung transplantation. We have specially trained hospital medical staff to manage our inpatients who are on continuous infusion therapy. As a large tertiary care center, we accept and manage high-risk patients. This includes high-risk obstetrics patients, critically ill patients in right heart failure, and patients needing a bridge to transplantation.
