About the Unit
Our Adult IR team is staffed at four locations, Butterworth Hospital, Blodgett Hospital, Lemmen Holton Cancer Pavilion, and Cascade. Our team consists of highly skilled and trained Registered Nurses and Radiology Technicians. We see over 25,000 patients a year and perform over 250 different procedure types from rather simple lines, tubes and drain placements, to more complex cases such as trauma patients, PE/DVT interventions, and thrombectomies.
Butterworth is our level 1 trauma and comprehensive stroke center where most emergent procedures are performed. Our RNs are responsible for sedating patients, monitoring overall patient status, assisting anesthesia, and/or maintaining patient comfort during the procedure, and assisting the Rad tech and physician scrubbed in for the procedure.
