The Nurse Educator Med-Surg will provide clinical education to the new hires and current department staff. Reporting to the Director of Professional Development, the Nurse Educator will work in the medical-surgical department that spans across multiple specialty units, totaling 170+ beds. Responsibilities of the Medical Surgical Nurse Educator include coordinating the on-boarding and new hire orientation for all inpatient, acute care employees working on the medical surgical units. The Medical Surgical Nurse Educator will ensure compliance, patient safety, and quality care is consistently delivered through promoting a team oriented, positive, patient-centered environment.
With state-of-the-art equipment throughout the hospital, the Medical Surgical Nurse Educator will be up-to-date utilizing advanced technology and evidence based practice. The Nurse Educator Med-Surg should also be familiar with using electronic medical records EMR, creating educational curriculums and programs, presenting, and mentoring teams. Additionally, the Nurse Educator Med Surg will have a recent clinical background working in an acute care setting, prior preceptor or Nurse Educator experience, hold their Registered Nurse License, and ideally hold their MSN.
