HPC-Industrial, powered by Clean Harbors, in Monaca, PA is looking for a CDL-Class B Driver to join their safety conscious team! The CDL-Class B Driver is responsible for the transportation of hazardous waste (tank, van, and/or roll-off dump truck) from a generator/facility to a Clean Harbors facility and/or an outside disposal facility adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT) and hazardous waste regulations. The CDL-Class B Driver serves as a representative of HPC-Industrial in creating a continuous working relationship with clients/customers. - Ensure proper loading and unloading of hazardous waste/non-hazardous waste (i.e., compatibility of liquid to tank, etc.); Adhere to weight limits and ensure proper utilization of Company equipment.
- Responsible for the proper placarding of vehicle to meet Company and Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements/regulations.
- Responsible for maintaining daily logs, worksheets timecard, expense reports, dispatch & trip reports and vehicle inspection reports.
- Comply with Company policies & procedures and Health & Safety procedures, Department of Transportation (DOT), Hazardous Materials/Waste (HAZMAT) and RCRA requirements/regulations.
- Adhere to assigned milk run schedules of pick-ups and drop-offs.
- Communicate regularly with Coordinators regarding daily times and demurrage.
- Maintain a professional appearance (by wearing Company supplied uniforms and ID badges, which are required, per Company policy) and courteous demeanor with internal and external customers.
- Maintain and clean assigned Company equipment as well as ensure equipment is mechanically sound and in good working order.
- Because of the emergency response and operational nature of the position, a continuing condition of employment is that the applicant/candidate acknowledges and agrees to be on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year and on occasion will require work during seek-ends and holidays.
- Responsible for keeping your training record up to date with all DOT /OSHA and Company required training
- Performs other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and will be required by the needs of the Clean Harbors business.
- Other Duties as Assigned
- 1-3 Years, verifiable vacuum truck service within the commercial trucking industry.
- Possess Hazardous Waste and Tank Endorsements
- Possess a Valid CDL Class B with X (Haz-mat and Tanker) endorsement and an acceptable driving record.
- Able to use Mobile Computer
- Able to work with little if no direct supervision and an aptitude to complete assigned work
- Knowledge of principles and methods for moving fluids in the vacuum truck services in the oilfield industry.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses and maintenance.
- Strong knowledge in the operation of equipment used in commercial transportation.
- Smartphone required for Electronic Logging Device.
- Complete understanding of DOT’s safety program & standards.
- Possess excellent communications and human relations skills.
- Mechanical aptitude and experience troubleshooting transportation equipment is preferred.
Educational Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
What does it take to work for HPC-Industrial?
- Specific vocational preparation including classroom safety training, on-the-job training and essential experience gained on other jobs;
- Language proficiency: understand English at a level to comprehend safety training and respond to instructions in emergency situations;
- Valid driver’s license, CDL Class A or B and other requirements of company’s driving policy required when driving company vehicle or using personal vehicle on company business;
- Must be knowledgeable in the operation of emergency equipment, such as fire extinguishers;
- Experience operating a vacuum truck. Smartphone required for Electronic Logging Device;
- Working knowledge of operating equipment used in wet and dry vacuums.
