The Facility Maintenance Manager I perform hands on maintenance activities specializing in mechanical applications, and supervises a multi-shift, multi-trade maintenance department.

- Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, disassembling, repairing, and re-assembling parts as necessary
- Testing mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications
- Working with computer instrumentation to perform diagnostics and execute work worders
- Welding and fabrication of necessary parts to maintain working order
- Other duties as assigned
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for all personnel related functions for maintenance employees, including, but not limited to, hiring, firing, and performance appraisals.
- Performs more than one of these following functions, Welding, Pipe fitting, Mechanic, Electrical, and Preventative maintenance planning.
- Supervision of all maintenance employees and shifts.
- Perform maintenance activities including, but not limited to, Pump rebuilds, Preventative Maintenance, Basic installations of pipe, and electric work.
- Perform basic repairs and up-keep in the Welding, Electrical, Pipe fitting, and Mechanical disciplines.
- Acts as an assistant to higher-level maintenance personnel on larger, more complex maintenance activities.
- Operates a forklift if required and trained.
- Ensures that work meets all applicable Health and Safety Standard Operating Procedures.
What Does it Take to Work for Clean Harbors?
- Plant maintenance experience in one of the following areas: preventative maintenance, installations, welding, electrical, pipe-fitting, rolling-stock/heavy equipment mechanics
- Demonstrated knowledge in welding or hydraulics
- Ability to work on weekends and overtime
- Ability to pass a mechanical aptitude test
- Ability to meet physical demands of the position, including movements such as lifting, bending, reaching, climbing, and the manipulating and handling of objects
