Clean Harbors is looking for an Inventory Item Specialist out of Norwell, MA! The Inventory Item Specialist analyzes inventory levels, flows, statistics, and performance monitoring.
Duties may include: Reviewing and monitoring plant purchase orders and inventory. Inventory turnover and restocking levels for multiple locations. Identifies potential excess and shortage risks. Supplier liaison. Manages surplus and obsolete inventory disposition.

- Creates granular item id s for maintenance inventory items. Determines which items are consumable, critical or CAPX.
- Provides accurate and current inventory data for purchasing decisions
- Works with Procurement Manager to maintain the items and link to suppliers as needed
- Works with Hub Manager and Maintenance personnel to insure that critical stock items and maintenance supplies are maintained with the appropriate item ids
- Monitors inventory usage and makes recommendations of items to delete or add
- Ensures periodic physical inventories are conducted
- Reviews received goods and supplies. Ensures items are priced appropriately
- Works with Asset managers to assist with kitting
- Reviews reports of inventory balance, shortages, as required;
- Corresponds with vendors concerning pricing for accuracy
- Determines where to stock key critical inventory where needed based of usage and feedback from Asset managers
- Must use computer applications such as spreadsheet, word processing, email and database software in performance of assigned work;
- Performs other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and will be required by the needs of the Clean Harbors business.
- Excellent knowledge of the methods used in keeping records of purchases, receipts and maintaining general supplies;
- Excellent knowledge of the fundamentals of inventory controls;
- Numerical ability to perform rapid and accurate arithmetic computations using a calculator; ability to effectively use computer applications such as spreadsheet, word processing, email and database software
- Proficient with a computerized inventory control system,
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions;
- Good Organizational skills
- Good communication skills
- Ability to take initiative
- Ability to influence cross functionally at senior levels in the company; interfacing with Operation, Finance, MIS
- Advanced excel and presentation skills
- Travel up to 25%
