Clean Harbors is looking for a VP of Product Regulatory Compliance to join our safety conscious team! The VP is responsible for developing and implementing the organization's product compliance with environmental regulations regarding the impact of the organization's customer equipment, labels, and solvent chemistry. The VP will also implement programs to ensure healthy and safe working conditions and compliance with all environmental regulations. The role will manage all product regulatory compliance support documentation, distribution requirements, monitor and review regulatory impacts ensuring our products meet mandated industry standards and all regulatory requirements.

- Provide leadership in the development and implementation of product compliance policies and procedures.
- Provide leadership to the branch field service and leadership teams.
- Coordinating efforts and execution of equipment changes, registrations, and alignment of OSHA’s Hazardous Communication standard with the Global Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) supporting the facility operations.
- Maintain labels, SDSs and product support documentation in full compliance with GHS, OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate registrations for REACH and support research on other international shipping requirements for products.
- Coordinate systematic reviews of existing Environmental policies and procedures and facilitate creation of new policies and procedures.
- Leverage technology to evaluate product compliance program information storage and other records of data for systematic retrieval and global access.
- Continual improvement review of effectiveness of regulatory product compliance initiatives by conducting comprehensive regulatory reviews of operational systems and product offerings.
- Recommend environmental improvement programs and solutions to regulatory challenges, based on proven successful practices.
- Implement and participate in corporate compliance initiatives providing guidance, expertise and research when needed.
- Support facility compliance managers with product compliance initiatives.
- Communicate significant regulatory issues to the SVP of Environmental Compliance, as necessary. Provide follow-up and ensure that regulatory compliance is achieved in a timely manner.
- Prepare reports and maintain workpapers and related supporting documentation in accordance with professional standards.
- Design and implement a comprehensive product compliance assurance program in accordance with Federal, State, Local, and Provincial laws and company policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science or related required. Alternative combinations of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
- 10-15 years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) laws/regulations, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
- Product Compliance experience.
- Excellent communication (written/verbal) and presentation skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
