Summary:
Responsible for administering oxygen therapy/aerosol therapy to patients; administering ventilator care; respiratory treatments; performing diagnostic testing and/or monitoring and preparing departmental paperwork. Responsible for collecting physiologic data, documenting response to interventions and educating patient/family. Communicates both verbally and in writing. Reports adverse reactions/contraindications. Responsible for maintaining clinical, State and Federal Standards for Diagnostic Testing. Responds to off hour calls when “On Standby”.
Requirements:
A. Education/Skills
· Must be currently certified (CRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
B. Experience
C. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
· Must maintain a valid certificate to practice respiratory care issued by the Texas Medical Board.
· AHA BLS certification
