Summary:
Responsible for providing leadership, support, direction and focus for Patient Financial Services Managers and Associates. Accountable for achieving Revenue Cycle goals of 93% 120 days net to cash or above and adjustment rate after 30-120 at or below 8%. Supports the overall objective of 96% 120 days net to cash. Serves as a resource for Cymetrix Revenue Cycle Director, System Director of Patient Financial Services, Corporate RCBS Directors, Corporate RCBS Executive Director, Health Information Management, Patient Access, and Regional Leadership. Responsible for implementing standardized processes as part of the World Class Revenue Cycle. Supports Patient Financial Services Managers in maintaining team discipline for all elements of established standard processes (work management, tools, SOPs, 5S, daily team briefings, metrics tracking and prompt resolution of issues, problems and opportunities). Responsible for supporting adherence to CHRISTUS standards and directives including JCAHO and HIPPA standards related to patient financial services. Responsible for monitoring the Revenue Cycle Score card and identifying areas where Revenue Cycle Objectives have not been met by analyzing data and processes using Management by Fact (MBF). Will provide follow-up intervention where corrective action is needed as well as supporting kaizen events for process change. Responsible for the recruitment, development, coaching, counseling or termination of Patient Financial Service Managerial Associates to ensure the development of a mature and professionally staffed organization
Responsibilities:
- Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
- Responsible for leadership in the development and implementation of new standard process and / or process improvements in accordance with the World Class Revenue Cycle Master Plan and the corresponding SOPs for patient financial services areas in collaboration with Patient Financial Services Managers
- Works with Patient Financial Services managers to establish annual goals and deploy them through each team
- Works collaboratively with Patient Financial Services staff to ensure that financial goals and objectives based on the Revenue Cycle Metrics are achieved monthly for each facility serviced
- Accountable for leading the Patient Financial Services teams in objectives of 93%120 days net to cash, adjustment rate 30-120 days at or below 8% and supporting other revenue cycle areas in the objective of 96%120 days net to cash
- Reviews monthly metrics and identifies shortcomings in performance pertaining to patient financial services using analytical tools and Management by Fact methods to execute root cause analysis
- Provides intervention in patient financial services areas where revenue cycle objectives are not being met
- Collaborates with Directors of HIM, Patient Access, & Shared Services in developing new processes and/or enhancing current processes and corresponding SOPs across the Revenue Cycle consistent with the world class revenue cycle master plan
- Supports the Patient Financial Services Managers in maintaining team discipline for all elements of established standard processes (work management, tools, SOPs, 5S)
- Works collaboratively with various hospital based Directors within the Region in order to ensure processes are within guidelines for the purposes of mitigating risk of denials, customer satisfaction and achievement of overall revenue cycle financial viability
- Serves as a member of the Executive Steering Committee for Revenue Cycle and presents opportunities and issues as appropriate
- Prepares presentation materials and meets with Regional Senior Leadership in a spirit of transparency and communication regarding financial opportunity affecting Revenue Cycle
- Collaborates with System Director of PFS, RCBS to develop budgets and operational plans to improve the performance of Patient Financial Services
- Collaborates with other Revenue Cycle Directors and Managers to design and implement additional training to improve the skill base of Patient Financial Services associates
- Ensures compliance with relevant regulations, standards and directives from regulatory agencies, third party payers, hospital and corporate mandates
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience required.
- 7 years of supervisory/management experience preferred.
- 8 – 12 years of technical years of experience preferred.
