Summary:
The competent Nurse, in the same or similar clinical setting, practices independently and demonstrates an awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides routine and complex care, with the ability to on long-range goals or plans. Continues to develop the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as a means to help manage the clinical situation.
Requirements:
A. Education/Skills
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred.
B. Experience
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• Critical Care/ED experience preferred.
C. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
• BLS required
• RN License in state of employment or compact
Current ACLS certification at time of hire or within 12 weeks of hire for experienced RNs or completion by the end of the clinical orientation period for new graduate nurses. Maintain certification thereafter.
Moderate Sedation within 3 months of hire for experienced RNs or within 12 months of hire for new graduate nurses. Maintain certification annually.
Current Arrhythmia recognition at time of hire or within 8 weeks of hire for experienced RNs or completion within 6 months for new graduate nurses. Maintain certification thereafter.
