As part of WWSO, you'll provide expertise across the entire life cycle of an AWS customer initiative, from developing ideas for new services to accelerating the adoption of established businesses. As an Efficient Compute Solutions Architect (SA), you will partner with engineering, product management, business development, and technical field teams to drive the enablement and adoption of Graviton-based Instances. You will also be part of broader team initiatives that will include supporting customer adoption of Spot instances. Your day-to-day will include authoring white papers, blog posts, reference architectures, do presentations to enable customers and partners to understand and leverage the value of Efficient Compute architectures. As a Solutions Architect, you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to redefine how customers create and consume efficient applications. As a technical expert and thought leader in the specialist team, you will work major customers across a broad array of engagements and implement cutting edge technologies.The ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a deep understanding of cloud, use cases, architectures, workflows, frameworks and tools. The ability to connect technology with measurable business value is critical to a Solutions Architect. You should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, products, and technical challenges. This might involve guiding customers as they refactor an application, modernize portions of their code, help identify dependencies or designing entirely new architectures.Key job responsibilities- Represent the voice of the customer; bring customer feedback to product teams to influence feature development and future product roadmap. - Provide advanced technical knowledge to your domain aligned GTM (Go To Market) teams to unblock our customers’ largest and most critical business challenges.- Act as a thought leader sharing best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures and public-speaking events such as AWS Summit, AWS re:Invent, etc. - Partner with Business Development teams to define the technical components of best in class GTM concepts, solutions, and initiatives. - Develop and support an AWS internal community of technical subject matter experts worldwide. Our team helps customers design efficient and optimized architectures using Compute services such as: Auto Scaling Groups, Graviton, Spot and Flex Instances and in general techniques that help to increase elasticity, reduce cost, increase performance and deliver against sustainability goals.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 7+ years design/implementation/consulting experience of distributed applications- 5+ years of technical customer facing experience- 5+ years of experience in software development and running Java workloads or as a Java Performance engineer.- 3+ years of experience with Container Services or Data and Analytics platforms (Spark, Trino, Flink)- Experience managing Open Source projects and communities.- History of successful technical consulting and/or architecture engagements with large-scale customers or enterprises- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, IT Management, and developers.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Understanding of low-level architectures and successful migration of applications from x86 to Graviton-based instances.- Other modern programming languages (Python, C/C++, Go, .Net, Rust, etc), cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure.- Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud- Familiarity with common enterprise services and working knowledge of software development lifecycle tools and methodologies- Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries- AWS Solution Architecture certification or relevant cloud expertise- Computer Science /relevant degree and/or experience highly desiredAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $138,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $239,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
