And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.The AWS Internet Edge Planning and Deployment team is searching for a Technical Infrastructure Program Manager to drive data center capacity planning – specifically to secure space/power/cooling capacity for racks hosted in primarily 3rd party colocation data centers. In this role, you will assess the demand requirements along with available network resources to determine and drive prime solutions for our customers. You will work with stakeholders to complete per-requisites necessary to deliver critical network infrastructure capacity. You will have goals to improve infrastructure utilization as well as availability. You will work across the AWS Organization to align demand with data center capacity and coordinate execution planning across AWS Internet Edge partners. You will be responsible for determining how to move forward key infrastructure builds, and own communication around the portfolio. You will develop tooling and automation to simplify the process for expansions.A successful individual in this role will have high judgement, strong bias for action, ability to work cross functionally and dive deep as needed to find solutions to unique problems that may be site specific. This person will also leverage a deep understanding of our platform, tools and influencing skills to obtain cross-functional and senior agreement buy off on capacity plan, availability standards, costs or any operational trade-offs that may be required to deliver capacity on time. Key job responsibilities- Monitor the network infrastructure health, customer demand, anticipate risks, resolve issues and initiate corrective action as appropriate.- Work with stakeholders (networking engineers/tech program managers/senior management) to define requirements and processes.- Manage the dependencies and the interfaces between projects and negotiate the trade-offs as needed.- Manage multiple competing cross-organizational projects/programs simultaneously- Interact with engineers, technicians, project managers and senior management on a daily basis- Analyze, interprete and visualize data, with Redshift, Oracle, Tableau, QuickSight, Redshift, and other BI management and visualization tools.- Drive automation initiatives, and drive simplification efforts in engineering and project/program management and architectures to unblock innovation- Create predictable process paths for large and/or complex efforts- Run meetings, create and maintain timelines, and keep large, diverse groups informed of progress and obstacles- Excellent writing skill and prepare roadmap document, and effectively communicate progressA day in the lifeIf you love being at the forefront of industry growth and development, applying your people skills and your analytical skills to drive insight into the business and improve the quality of key inputs, then this is a spot for you. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS• 5+ years of technical infrastructure management experience• 5+ years of knowledge of best practices and emerging technologies, related to infrastructure (i.e. network, data center, hardware, software)• 3+ years of experience with analyzing, interpreting and visualizing data.• 3+ years of experience with modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines• 3+ Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS• Experience in large scale data center infrastructure planning and scaling• Experience on Advanced business intelligence and data visualization and reporting tools (e.g. Tableau)• Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasetsAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
