Position Summary: Operational Accountant I is responsible for maintaining the general ledger, reconciling general ledger accounts, preparing journal entries, analyzing financial statements, and supporting the Operational Accounting management team. Operational Accountant I must have strong work ethic, and attention to detail.
Essential Duties:
- Assists with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements.
- Prepares Month end close journal entries.
- Analyzes account balances and determines appropriate accruals monthly.
- Reviews and analyzes revenue transactions.
- Reviews and analyzes expense accounts to ensure proper coding and make corrections as needed.
- Performs monthly income statement variance analyses.
- Performs monthly bank reconciliations.
- Reconciles and research balance sheet variances.
- Assists with quarterly and year-end audit requests.
- Always maintains a high degree of confidentiality due to access to sensitive information.
- Maintains regular, predictable, consistent attendance and is flexible to meet the needs of the department.
- Follows all Medicare, Medicaid, and HIPAA regulations and requirements.
- Abides by all regulations, policies, procedures, and standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements & Competencies:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- 0-2 years related experience.
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Valid driver's license and proof of insurance is required.
