The Opportunity
Our location in Columbus, OH, currently has an opportunity for a Project Manager - Global Logistics.
What You’ll Work On
- Develop and implement logistics solutions for clients.
- Utilize logistics modeling techniques to tackle issues like operational process enhancement and global distribution network design.
- Support leadership in identifying improvement projects, including cost reduction, cycle time reduction, and waste elimination.
- Set Operational Excellence goals, create project plans, and coordinate project teams, ensuring alignment with business strategies.
- Aid in the technical deployment of Operational Excellence
- Conduct statistical analysis.
- Perform value stream mapping and process optimization studies.
- Assess the effectiveness of logistics policies, processes, and procedures, and develop improvements as needed.
- Collaborate closely with Packaging, Manufacturing, Customer Service, and IT on continuous improvement initiatives.
- Resolve or facilitate the resolution of problems, including identifying causes to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain positive and cooperative communication and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
- Present Operational Excellence briefings to senior leadership teams.
- Promote benchmarking and the sharing of best practices internally and with other Abbott locations worldwide.
- Integrate Operational Excellence practices into systems, processes, and protocols.
- Provide training on lean tools and Operational Excellence initiatives.
- Lead Kaizen events.
- Collaborate with other functions within Abbott Nutrition to maximize improvement opportunities and build a sustainable Operational Excellence program across the Supply Chain
- Support all company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.
- Comply with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.
- Perform related functions and responsibilities as assigned, on occasion.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE, YOU’LL BRING
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Logistics
- 4+ years of logistics experience and/or project management experience
- Strong knowledge of standard office desktop computer applications such as Excel, Access, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Ability to travel approximately 5%, including internationally.
Preferred:
- Experience with Lean tools and methodology.
- Strong creative and strategic thinker
- Multi-tasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
- Strong organizational, planning, and follow-up skills and ability to hold others accountable.
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
- Strong leadership skills, including the ability to set goals and provide positive and constructive feedback respectfully to build positive relationships and improve business results.
- Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced changing environment.
- Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.

The base pay for this position is $72,700.00 – $145,300.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
