The Opportunity
This position can be based in either our Minnetonka, MN or Austin, TX location and is in our Medical Device Division. The Communications Associate Manager of Reimbursement Operations will help drive the development of strategic information to customers and Abbott representatives about health economics and reimbursement related to procedures supported by our technology; this position is one which drives market adoption by building on the potential of Abbott solutions to create economic value for healthcare providers, payers and patients.
What you’ll work on
Works with a team of health economic and reimbursement professionals to develop tools, programs and messages that support and enable the sale and use of Abbott therapy solutions by healthcare providers.
Assists in developing and regularly updating reimbursement tools and resources for use by stakeholders in clinical and economic settings.
Manages the department Communication Strategy which includes internal and external messaging, tools, websites and sales training platforms.
Establishes and maintains working relationships with internal Abbott stakeholders including but not limited to Marketing, Sales Operations, Legal, Regulatory, and Sales divisions.
Participates in assigned cross-departmental meetings and conference calls for the purpose of providing input and guidance regarding market dynamics and issues needing focus, attention and action.
Works with internal HE&R teams to analyze trends relating to current private payers, workers compensation administrators and Medicare carriers.
Supports Abbott Divisions as it relates to pre/post-launch reimbursement issues or requirements, including commercial insurance packets and follow-up.
Uses analytics tools to develop solutions meeting customers reporting needs.
Runs data analytics reports, creates summaries of data and distributes information proactively on a regular basis as well as when requested.
Assists in analysis of customer metrics including service line finance, individual quality measures, and performance data in conjunction with Value Analysis and ad hoc presentations.
Works with manager to develop and implement reports/programs for digital platforms and/or apps which expand current analytic and functional capabilities.
Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.
Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.
Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
A minimum of 3 years experience, preferably in medical device industry.
Advanced, hands-on experience in Microsoft Office, including proficiency with Excel pivot tables and PowerPoint presentations.
Must have strong project management, analytical and prioritization skills with the ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
Ability to travel approximately 5%.
Preferred Qualification
Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.
Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.

The base pay for this position is $83,000.00 – $166,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
