The Opportunity
The Sr. Manager Information Systems will plan, coordinate, manage, and design all operational activities of the IT Business Intelligence and Information Systems department, as well as provide direction and support for Business Intelligence IT solutions that enhance mission-critical business operations. The Sr. Manager Information Systems will demonstrate global leadership and authority including resource allocation, project management, software development life cycle management, system integration, testing, interface facilitation and analysis.
The Sr. Manager will work closely with IT Directors and Senior Management to identify, recommend, develop, implement and support cost-effective technology solutions for BI Analytics and related Information systems of the organization. The Sr. Manager should be comfortable with a high-visibility role in Information Technology with a proven track record of results.
What You’ll Work On
- This role works with Senior leadership to design the vision for Business Intelligence and Information Systems for the division.
- This role executes the mission for Business Intelligence, Analytics, and Information Systems for the division.
- Carries out duties in compliance with established business policies and procedures.
- Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal/external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company’s policies and practices.
- Responsibility to understand and maintain awareness of the quality consequences which may occur from the improper performance of their specific job.
- Manages and directs the planning, development, testing, implementation and support of voice, data and application-based technologies and functions.
- Directs the activities of Information Technology consultants within all phases of Information Technology projects. Responsible for the development and the use of project work plans and project status reporting for the group on a weekly basis.
- Ensures the development of documentation including appropriate policies and procedures for the Abbott Division as well as adherence to corporate level IT standards, policies and procedures.
- Monitors performance of infrastructure equipment, coordinates equipment installation and delivery schedules. Identified requirements for infrastructure and operation expansion based on current and projected activity and direction provided by the Sr. stakeholders.
- Responsible for all IT Business Intelligence disaster recovery planning and testing for IT Business Intelligence solutions and services of the division.
- Hires, develops, and mentors IT staff.
- Maintains knowledge of existing technologies, including new products in the Business Intelligence and Analytics space. Constant and proactive communication with Senior Management is essential.
- Maintains budget in conjunction with business requirements.
- Helps to ensures business satisfies applicable regulatory requirements.
- Establishes metrics, key performance indicators and service level agreements for driving the performance of IT service delivery.
- Ownership of Service Legal agreements.
- Responsible for staff evaluations, staff career planning, staff education program development, resource planning and interviewing and hiring future IT staff.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications & Education
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Business Administration or related discipline, or equivalent work experience is required.
- 10+ years of increased responsibility in leading IT functions is required.
- Understanding of any IT Data discipline in either/or Data Warehousing, ETL/Integration, Data Visualization, Machine Learning and MS technologies.
- Consultative skills and the ability to lead staff through business requirements and delivering business and technical solutions are required.
- Demonstrated ability to engage with business leaders and external clients.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in any IT Data disciplines such as Data Warehousing, ETL/Integration, Data Visualization, Machine Learning, statistical analysis, predictive modeling.
- Experience with either/Or SAP BW/Hana, Microsoft Azure/Data Factory/Synapse/Data Bricks Microsoft PowerApps/PowerBI.
- Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley and HIPAA laws are highly desirable.
- Travel will be expected (up to 25% of the time).
- Microsoft and other similar certifications are preferred.

The base pay for this position is $125,300.00 – $250,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
