The Opportunity
This position works out of our Abbott Park, IL (Lake Bluff, IL) location in the Core Division. Our diagnostic solutions are used in hospitals, laboratories, and clinics around the globe. The crucial information derived from our tests, instruments, and informatics systems is often the first step in patient care decision-making for hundreds of health conditions from heart attacks to blood disorders to infectious diseases and cancers.
As the Technician II, you’ll be responsible for issuing chemicals and in-process materials to manufacturing work orders and requisitions. This includes working with aseptic materials and frozen materials and disposing of materials based on hazardous classification.

Monday to Friday
2:00 PM to 10:30 PM
What You’ll Work On
Dispense materials by using aseptic, gravimetric, or volumetric procedures.
Individuals will be required to perform math calculations and trained to handle chemical and biological materials safely.
Ensure proper setup and operation of weighing and measuring equipment and utilize a variety of documentation to perform job functions.
Act as “On the Job Trainer” for certain areas of responsibility.
Responsible for the accurate dispensing of materials.
The impact of not performing the job correctly could lead to the product being used in error, and in turn, unnecessary disposal of valuable product.
It could also lead to product recalls.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
Some related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Some college preferred
Individuals will be required to train and become familiar with GMP and computerized inventory systems.

The base pay for this position is $19.55 – $39.15 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
