The Opportunity
IT Senior Program Manager - IT PMO - Merger, Acquisition and Divestiture
position works out of our Abbott Park location in the Corporate Division. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for delivering on business integration, restructuring or divestiture objectives, defining deliverables to meet the deal model and driving IT organizational management to ensure transformation initiatives are effectively executed.
This role will support and manage the IT aspects of Acquisitions, Divestitures and other significant multidivisional strategic projects for Abbott IT. To be successful, a candidate must be exceptional at cross functional collaboration, have a bias for action, and understanding of strategic priorities and be detail and process oriented. Proven ability to digest large amounts of information, understand complex subject matters, develop plans, ability to communicate at all levels of management and mobilize teams in a matrix environment as necessary.
What You’ll Work On
Business & Technology Services (BTS), Abbott Transition Office (ATO)Licensing, Acquisition and Ventures (L&A)
Proactively partner and engage with L&A, ATO on key, strategic Executive Suite initiatives on behalf of IT.
Partner with ATO and L&A teams early in a transaction to develop due diligence and discovery with complete confidentiality on the target company.
Prepare presentations for Executive Steering Committee and ATO led Functional Team governance meetings.
Align with IT Senior Leadership (ITSL) to establish project goals and timelines to help set strategic IT direction.
IT liaison with strong leadership, communication and business relationship skills to align with Corporate and Business Cross-Functional Teams to meet all contractual obligations for a MA&D transaction.
Manage and provide IT Governance with IT Workstream Leads holding team accountable for timely and professional deliverables. Ensure delivery timelines are attainable and ensure execution of the IT Program is achieved according to contractual obligations.
Program Management
Translate deal strategy and model into executable integration plans. Leads and develops cross functional teams to design IT project plans and then implement against those strategic initiative and projects. Manage projects, activities and resource effectively. Quickly analyze, diagnose, prescribe, execute, and make course corrections to ensure commitments are maintained. Work cross functionally and in a matrix environment with business leadership from BTS, Division and ATO to execute strategic initiatives.
Operational Transformation
Oversee strategic change initiatives, including mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, ensuring IT teams understand and adapt to new processes, technologies or strategies.
Develop, executive and manage IT acquisition and divestiture projects within the defined scope provided by the Abbott Transition Office (ATO) and aligned with Division and BTS strategies.
Expedite, manage and coordinated a multitude of interrelated IT project activities within the constraints of human and financial resources and changing priorities to ensure the successful completion of projects.
Work across all Corporate and Divisional functional areas to ensure IT integration or divestiture projects are executed according to contractual requirements.

Stakeholder Engagement
Collaborate with various stakeholders, such as Executives, Division leaders, IT Sr. Leadership, Cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and support for the IT transformation.
Project Control
Act as the Single-Point-of-Contact across all IT Workstreams (IS, DTS, BSS, Cyber, Quality) developing Project strategies and governance processes to ensure IT integration success.
Lead IT Project Workstream leads in developing and executing the integration or separation of the Target Company ensuring that authorized resources are obtained and all project activities are achieved.
Gather 'Lessons Learned' post close and after integration or separation is fully completed.
Risk Management
Identify and mitigate protentional risks and obstacles that could hinder the project success.
Executing and Closing Projects
Communicate project progress by producing project reports to provide timely and accurate project status and decision support information to IT Project Team, Division Leadership, Cross-Functional Teams and Executive Management.
Makes recommendations based on current project status to resolve issues and keep the project on-track to ensure deliverables the Program timelines are achieved.
Communication
Demonstrate leadership, management and interpersonal skills influencing strategic direction and interacting with senior management at corporate, division, and with BTS.
Collaborates effectively, must be very comfortable operating in a fast paced and unpredictable environment with the ability to effectively anticipate and develop contingency plans.
Actively listen to IT Workstream Leads, ATO, Functional teams and key stakeholders; act as a conduit between ITSL, ATO and Divisional leadership ensuring leadership buy-in and support of the technical solution and execution of the plans and timelines.
Financial Management
Proven ability to understand, review and evaluate IT project plans including the financials.
Understand the interrelationship between key financial metrics.
Ensure that the achievement of all financial targets governed by the Deal Model is driven by decision, investments and strategic imperatives.
Manage and deliver IT financial commitments as well as optimize short-term performance and long-term growth.
Identify, define and prioritize IT project to achieve deal value and synergies.
Continuous Improvement
Encourage a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the IT organization to further advance future MA&D transactions.Document 'Lessons Learned' on prior transactions to be applied on future deals.Ensure each Workstream Functional Lead (IS, BSS, DTS, Cyber, Quality) are updating their MA&D Playbook annually.
Reporting
Prepare regular reports as needed to ITSL and ATO and other Stakeholder on the status and impact of the IT project.
Resource and Team Management
Manage, motivate, mentor, problem-solve across-functional and enterprise project teams. Help ensure the Program is adequately staffed to perform the work for the duration of the Program.
Accountability
Manages programs /projects at the division or enterprise level.
Develop a preliminary IT budget.
Prepare IT LBE quarterly budgets according to ATO Finance requirements.

Required Qualifications
Undergraduate or Master's degree in Computer Science, Business or related disciplines
Minimum 10 years:- Organizational Leadership, including General Management experience along with large scale, cross functional, program management and leading IT initiatives globally.- Strong influencer, great at cross functional collaboration, bias for action and understanding of strategic priorities. Detail oriented and strong IT process acumen.- Proven ability to digest large amounts of information, understand complex subject matter (IT and Business related), develop plans and mobilize teams to execute according to plan.-Team player who communicates well and knows when to manage up, down and across to drive results but promote an inclusive and collaborative culture and feeling of value in team members.

The base pay for this position is $125,300.00 – $250,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
