What You’ll Work On
- The Installation and Integration (I&I) manager has primary responsibility for leading a technical service team to implement Abbott’s automation solutions.
- Lead the I&I team to install ensure world class support is given to the implementation of Abbott’s automation products.
- Responsible for driving and executing implementations that are performed within assigned timelines and with the high standards.
- Lead a skilled team of laboratory automation installation experts that perform onsite customer implementations. These installers lead all aspects of the installation from delivery through hardware verification.
- Coordinate automation projects with Abbott service managers, project managers, and customers. Ensure that project plans align to customer needs and expectations. Be the subject matter expert on automation implementations and technical resource for planning.
- Ensure automation project timelines are adhered to and make adjustments to staffing as required.
- Leading by example, ensure that team has the required skills and knowledge to perform all aspects of automation implementations.
- As the subject matter expert, lead planning activities for all automation expansions and retrofits. Perform cost estimates for all expansions including labor hours and personnel.
- Drive the launch of Abbott’s new Automation solutions, provide technical expertise and ensure product launch success.
- Recruit, hire and retain top talent: Proactively and routinely identifies a pool of high potential candidates to fill open and future service positions. Defines considers current needs/dynamics of the team and business to define hiring profiles and partners with Human Resources to define recruitment strategies.
- Coach and Motivate Employees: Work with employee to discuss and expand ways to overcome service business challenges and improve performance (e.g., coaches to the Achieving Service Excellence model, shares best practices). Effectively recognize and reward individual and team achievements to reinforce and drive overall performance. Utilize incentive plans to motivate and direct the service team by linking service actions to incentives and by allocating service goals that are fair, challenging, and achievable.
- Service Team Training & Development: Identify ongoing training needs of the individual/team to address service support improvement opportunities to drive customer loyalty, reduce costs and maximize and profitability.
- Sponsor and support an appropriate training plan to ensure new hires quickly and effectively learn the job. Facilitates training for experienced representatives to ensure continuous improvement and high-level performance. Monitor and reinforce service representative formal training to ensure application on the job.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 4-5 years’ customer support experience preferably in the diagnostics industry or in a lab environment.
- Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting IVDs and Biologics.
- Must be able to travel up towards 75%

The base pay for this position is $109,300.00 – $218,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
