Our location in Sylmar, CA, currently has an opportunity for a Test Development Engineer II.
Test Development Engineer II designs and develops non-product software and hardware to test new products. Investigates and resolves production problems involving test equipment software and hardware. Applies engineering and scientific principles to the evaluation and solution of technical problems. Exercises technical judgment in planning, organizing, performing, coordinating and/or directing engineering work. Performs engineering studies. Remains abreast of and consults on technical advancements. Identifies and routinely uses the most effective, cost efficient and best practices to execute processes; continually evaluates their effectiveness and appropriateness.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Develop hardware interfaces, including test points within design, and develops software to test design using Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) testers.
Assist others in the design and development of interface hardware, probes, fixtures and circuit boards to test silicon wafers and medical devices.
Maintain existing software. Install changes as necessary to provide testing for updates to existing product designs.
Update all documentation to support changes.
Generate project plans and software and hardware documents relative to the resolution of problems and/or the implementation of new test software.
Identify and resolve discrepancies between new design test requirements and test system capabilities using hardware or software designs.
Write test plans and conducts design verification testing of hardware.
Coordinate transfer of device and test software into production and provides follow-up support to facilitate resolution of problems.
Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.
Comply with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Electrical engineering or related engineering field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
Minimum 3 years in electrical test or test equipment design/development, as well as experience in mixed signal automatic testing.
Basic familiarity with "C/ C++" and “C#” programming or similar programming languages. Particularly, the ability to code procedural test methods using Python, within a larger software framework.
Broad familiarity or experience with mixed signal (analog/digital).
An interest in open-ended, cross-functional technical investigations across manufacturing, product design, and failure analysis.
Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
Preferred
Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model.
Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) systems; expertise in one or more relevant specialties.
Experience with Unix operating system.
Experience with testing integrated circuit and wafers in the medical product.
Experience working with Verilog.

The base pay for this position is $65,900.00 – $131,900.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
